Zapier is improving the LinkedIn Ads apps for LinkedIn’s lead sync API migration. This will support leads from sources such as company and product pages. As a result of this work, you will need to reconnect your LinkedIn Ads connections to Zapier.
Here’s what you need to know about the update:
- All LinkedIn Ads app connections will be updated to the latest app version on January 13, 2025.
- LinkedIn Ads app connections will need to be reconnected by January 12, 2025.
- If you don’t reconnect your LinkedIn Ads connection(s) by then, your Zaps will stop working.
- Each LinkedIn profile must only have one app connection between LinkedIn Ads and Zapier at one time.
How to reconnect your LinkedIn Ads account
Before you reconnect
Before you reconnect your connection(s), you must confirm that you have only one Zapier app connection per LinkedIn profile.
If you have multiple app connections to LinkedIn Ads to the same LinkedIn profile, you’ll need to:
- Update all of your Zaps to use the same app connection.
- Disconnect all additional app connections.
View all LinkedIn Ads app connections and associated Zaps with your Zapier account.
Shared app connections
If you have shared connection(s) to the same LinkedIn profile in your Zapier account, you’ll need to:
- Ask teammates to update all Zaps to use only one shared app connection.
- Edit the connection's name so you and your teammates can identify the app connection to use.
- Once all teammates have confirmed they’ve updated their Zaps, disconnect all additional app connections.
Reconnect
- Go to the Apps page.
- Search for and select LinkedIn Ads.
- In the Connections tab for that app, click the three dot icon next to the app connection.
- In the dropdown menu, click Reconnect.
- A new browser tab or window will open. Follow the instructions to reconnect to LinkedIn.
The app connection will be reconnected for all Zaps that use it.

The “added date” for the app connection will not change, but the connection label will update from the first and last name to your LinkedIn profile’s vanity name and your name in parentheses. For example, the vanity name for this LinkedIn profile URL https://www.linkedin.com/in/sue-nelson-82b292298/
is sue-nelson-82b292298
, so the updated connection label will display as sue-nelson-82b292298 (Sue Nelson)
.
FAQs
What happens if I do not reconnect my LinkedIn Ads connection(s)?
If you do not reconnect your LinkedIn Ads connection(s) by January 12, 2025, your Zaps using LinkedIn Ads will stop working. If you have email notifications turned on, you will receive an email notifying you that your Zap(s) turned off.
This is because your affected Zap(s) have been updated to the latest app version, which requires additional permissions.
To fix this, update your Zaps to a single app connection and then reconnect it.
What happens if I do not remove multiple app connections but reconnect them?
Having multiple app connections to the same LinkedIn profile within your Zapier account will cause connection issues. Other app connections will become invalid, and your Zaps will stop working.

This Zapier account contains 3 Linked app connections: 2 for Sally and 1 for Brian.
Sally’s Zaps are divided between 2 app connections. If she doesn’t consolidate them into a single connection, changes to one connection will affect only the Zaps linked to it. If she reconnects one connection, the Zaps linked to the other will stop working, causing disruption to 2 of her Zaps.
In contrast, Brian has one app connection to their LinkedIn profile, which all of their Zaps are connected to. When they reconnect to LinkedIn Ads, their Zaps will continue to run as normal.
In Sally’s case, she will need to ensure all Zaps are connected to a single app connection before reconnecting it.
What are the best practices for LinkedIn Ads connections on Zapier?
You must only have one app connection per LinkedIn profile to Zapier at one time. This means you should not share credentials across different Zapier profiles.
You can have multiple app connections on Zapier, as long as they are for different LinkedIn profiles.
Zapier recommends not sharing LinkedIn profile credentials with others to avoid connection issues.
What to do if any leads are missing?
If you notice missing leads from your Zap, you can manually export them from LinkedIn and import them into another app using Zapier. To do this:
- Download leads by form or campaign from LinkedIn Campaign into a CSV file.
- Review the exported leads to ensure there are no duplicates before importing them into Zapier. Zapier cannot deduplicate leads that have already been imported.
- Import your CSV file into a spreadsheet app such as Zapier Tables. Then, create a Zap to send your imported data to your other apps.
- Learn step-by-step about how to transfer existing data using a spreadsheet.
My Zaps are updated, but question fields are missing
If your Zaps did not have a form selected, we could not pull the latest question fields from LinkedIn Ads. As a result, mapped fields now appear with a yellow exclamation mark, indicating they are no longer available.
Previously, questions were identified by ID (question_0). Now they are identified by name, simplifying identification.
To fix this, retest and remap fields in your affected Zaps. If you used these fields for any conditional or branching logic, you'll also need to update that logic.
