Use instant actions on Zapier Central

Beta

Zapier Central is a beta product. It’s available for use, but still in active development and may change.

With instant actions, your Zapier Central assistant can execute actions on command, during a conversation. 

Create an instant action

1. From the assistant Chat screen, click Instant actions. 
2. Click + Add action. A dialog box will open.
3. Click the search field to search for and select the app you want your assistant to use.
4. In the Connection dropdown menu, select an account to connect to. 
   • You can create a new connection by clicking the Settings icon .  
5. In the Actions section, select the checkbox beside one or more actions.
6. Click Save.

Delete an instant action

1. At the bottom of the screen, click Instant actions.
2. Find the action you want to delete and click the three dot icon .
3. Click Delete action.
4. Confirm it by clicking Delete action on the dialog box.

Use instant actions

Once you set up an instant action, you can chat with the assistant and ask it to perform any of those actions. The assistant will let you know once the action is completed and what was the result.

Every time an instant action runs, it consumes one activity from your activity limit. You can view all past instant action runs in the Activity tab.

Search and browse with an assistant

Your Central assistant can search the internet for specific queries and browse websites for general information to complete your requests and tasks. In instant actions, you can ask the assistant to search the web or to browse a specific website for information and it will retrieve the answer.

Note

The assistant cannot log in to websites or interact with them. Any information you want it to retrieve needs to be publicly available.
