When errors occur in your Zaps, Zapier will send notifications to your Zapier account email address by default.

- Only Zapier Manager Trigger: only receive a notification by setting up a separate Zap that uses Zapier Manager to trigger on new errors.

If you want more control over when and how you get notified of Zap errors, use the built-in Zapier Manager app.
(Beta) Change the default notification rule and create custom notification rules
- These are beta features that Zapier is testing.
- It is limited to Team, Company, and Pro plans.
- Team and Company plan members can select Zaps that other members have shared with them. This allows you to be notified of Zaps you have access to but don’t own.
- Super Admins and Owners in Team and Company accounts can access any Zap in their account.
Change your default notification rule
The default notification rule applies to all Zaps that you own and covers any triggers or actions that have an errored status. To change your default notification rule:
- Navigate to your error notification settings.
- In the Default Notification Rule section, select the notification frequency:
- Immediately: receive a notification for each error that occurs in a Zap trigger or action. This is the default.
- Hourly Summary: receive a summary of all errors that occurred once per hour at the top of the hour.
- Never: you won’t receive any notifications. This is not recommended. If you select this option, you must click Confirm to finish setting up the custom notification rule.
Create a custom notification rule
Custom notification rules replace the default rule for the selected Zap. You can set up custom notification rules for any Zaps that you have access to, even if you don’t own the Zap.
- Navigate to your error notification settings.
- In the Custom Notification Rules section, click Create notification rule.
- Click the Select a Zap input box and enter the Zap name or scroll and select a Zap.
- Select the notification frequency:
- Immediately: receive a notification for each error that occurs in a Zap trigger or action. This is the default.
- Hourly Summary: receive a summary of all errors that occurred once per hour at the top of the hour.
- Never: you won’t receive any notifications. This is not recommended. If you select this option, you must click Confirm to finish setting up the custom notification rule.
