Google Sheets uses OAuth to authenticate your account on Zapier.

  • Log into Google Sheets to authenticate.
  • Grant Zapier permission to access your account if prompted to.

You must have the following permissions to use Google Sheets with Zapier:

  • For trigger and search actions: viewer, commenter, or editor permissions.
  • For create and update actions: editor permissions.
  • If your company uses Google Suite: third-party app access.
Are there usage limits? Yes
  • 6,000 read requests per minute per user
  • 1,800 read requests per minute per user.

Do trigger samples use real data from your account or generic data? Real trigger samples

Do update actions overwrite or append to existing data? Overwrite existing data

When using the Create Spreadsheet Row action, steps may briefly appear as "Delayed" in the Zap history. This is normal and should last only a few seconds.

The maximum file size you can store in Google Drive is:

  • Up to 10 million cells or 18,278 columns for a spreadsheet.
    Up to 50,000 rows or 10 MB for pivot tables and extracts in Connected Sheets.

Spreadsheets exceeding these limits may prevent Zapier from accessing and processing your data effectively.
