How to change ownership of a table
When you change ownership of a table, only the table and its views are assigned to the new owner. Any Zaps, forms, or other linked assets must be shared separately.
To change ownership of a table on your Zapier account:
- From the Tables home, select your table.
- In the toolbar, click Share. A dialog box will appear.
Transfer to a user who does not have access to the table
- Click the transfer icon .
- In the search box, search for and select the name or email address of the new owner.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Existing linked assets will not change ownership.
- Click Change owner.
Transfer to a user who already has access to the table
- From the list of users with access, find the user who will be the new owner.
- Click the dropdown menu beside their name and select Make owner.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Existing linked assets will not change ownership.
- Click Change owner.
The new owner will receive an email notification about the transfer.
Note
- The transfer confirmation dialog lists any connected Zaps or other linked assets that will not change ownership. Review these before confirming.
- If the table has Linked Record fields, give the new owner access to related tables to keep linked records working.
- If the table is shared with your Zapier account or your team, you'll retain access and have the same role as other users.
- If the table is not shared with the account, you'll no longer have access to it. Ask the new owner to add you as an editor or viewer if you still need access.
Limitations
- Ownership transfers cannot be reversed. Always verify the name and email of the new owner before confirming.
- Linked assets (Zaps, forms, interfaces) are not transferred automatically. Change the owner of any linked assets to avoid breaking existing automations. Learn how to change ownership of:
