Change ownership of shared Zaps

You can change ownership of a shared Zap to another user, as long as they are also a member of the same Team or Enterprise account.

  • This feature is only available for users in Team or Enterprise accounts.
  • Only the current owner of the Zap, admins, super admins, or account owners can change ownership of a shared Zap. Learn more about managing your Team or Enterprise account roles and permissions.

 

Change ownership of a single Zap

  • Go to the Zaps page.
  • In the Shared Folders tab in the left sidebar, select the shared folder the Zap is in.
  • Click the right arrow icon on the right side of the Zap you want to change ownership of. A sidebar will open.
  • At the top of the sidebar, hover near the name until the pencil icon appears, then click the pencil icon .
  • In the dialog box, click the Choose a new owner search box.
  • Enter the name or email of the person you want to transfer ownership to.
  • Click Change owner.

To change ownership of a Zap in a private folder, move your Zap to a shared folder first. Super admins and owners of the account can also move Zaps from private folders into shared folders, then change ownership of those Zaps.

 

Change ownership of multiple Zaps

This feature is available to users on Team and Enterprise plans.

  • Go to the Zaps page.
  • In the Shared Folders tab in the left sidebar, select the shared folder the Zap is in.
  • Select the checkbox next to each Zap that you want to change ownership of.
  • At the top of your list of Zaps, next to the enabled checkbox, click the down arrow to open the folder dropdown menu.
  • Select Change owner.
  • In the dialog box, click the Choose a new owner search box.
  • Search for and select the user you want to transfer ownership to.
  • Click Change ownership.

You can review any pending Zap moves in the Queued Actions page.

  • This page appears whenever you change ownership of multiple Zaps.
  • You can review all changes for 1 week.
    • You can retry any failed changes during this period.
    • To review older changes, use the audit log.

  • If the new owner doesn't have access to the shared folder the Zap is in, they'll automatically gain access.
  • If the new owner doesn't have access to any shared app connections used in the Zap, they'll automatically gain access. 
    • Members' private app connections aren't shared.
  • Transferring the Zap doesn't impact the Zap's history or held Zap runs. 
    • These will continue to be visible only to users who can view the Zap.
  • Account members can only change ownership of Zaps that they own.
  • To change ownership of a Zap in a private folder, move your Zap to a shared folder first.
  • Account admins, super admins, and owners can change ownership of any Zap, regardless of original ownership.
    • Only super admins and owners of the account can also move Zaps from private folders into shared folder, then change ownership of those Zaps.
  • You can only assign a single owner to a Zap at a time.
