Twilio and Zapier connect to automate SMS and calls. You can trigger actions when receiving messages or calls and send SMS or make phone calls.
Prerequisites
To use the Twilio app on Zapier, you must have:
- A Twilio account (free trial or paid account).
- At least one verified phone number in your Twilio account (required for trial accounts to send/receive messages and calls).
- For SMS messaging: Toll Free verification completed if using US numbers (required for trial accounts).
- A Twilio phone number (automatically assigned to trial accounts, or purchased for paid accounts).
Connect Twilio to Zapier
Find your Twilio credentials
To find your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token:
- Log into your Twilio account.
- Go to your User account settings.
- In the Account Info section, you can find your Account SID and Auth Token.

Connect to Twilio on Zapier
To create an app connection to Twilio on Zapier:
- Go to the Apps page.
- Click + Add connection.
- A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Twilio.
- Click Add connection.
- A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
- Complete the following fields:
- Account SID: Enter your Twilio Account SID.
- Auth Token: Enter your Twilio Auth Token.
- Click Yes, Continue to Twilio.
Your Twilio account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Limitations
- Messages should not contain any reference to alcohol, illegal drugs, cannabis/cbd, firearms, gambling, prescription medication, tobacco or adult content. Learn more about Twilio's Messaging policy.
- API rate limits apply. Twilio has rate limits and concurrent request limits that may result in 429 Too Many Requests responses during high usage periods.
