The error message McpAuthorizationError indicates that Zapier could not verify the sign-in for your AI client. This usually means an app connection on your server has expired and needs to be reauthenticated.
Symptom
Your AI client (such as Claude) shows the error message McpAuthorizationError when trying to connect to Zapier MCP.
Causes
- An app connection on the server has expired or been revoked.
- The server URL saved in your AI client is out of date.
How to fix it
Reconnect the app that is failing:
- In the left sidebar of the Zapier MCP dashboard, select your server.
- Select the menu icon beside the name of the app.
- Select Update authentication and follow the prompts to reconnect.
- Try the action in your AI client again.
If the error persists and your AI client supports it, regenerate your server URL and update the saved URL in your AI client's configuration:
- Go to the Zapier MCP dashboard and select your server.
- In the top menu bar, select the Connect tab.
- Click the Rotate token button to regenerate your MCP server URL.
