Important update: Zapier Functions is being deprecated

Zapier Functions is being deprecated on September 1, 2026. Zapier is consolidating its code capabilities into Code by Zapier, which runs natively inside your Zaps and supports both JavaScript and Python. Code by Zapier also offers npm and PyPI packages, AI-assisted code generation, and the Zapier SDK (JavaScript only).

If you have workflows that use Zapier Functions, migrate them to Code by Zapier before September 1, 2026. After that date, Functions will no longer be available.

What's changing

  • Zapier Functions is no longer accepting new users. You cannot sign up for Functions or create new functions after June 1, 2026.
  • Existing functions continue to run until September 1, 2026. Your deployed functions will keep working until the shutdown date.
  • After September 1, 2026, all functions will stop running. Deployed functions will no longer execute, and the Functions interface will no longer be accessible.
  • Your code is preserved. No code will be deleted in 2026. You can copy your function code at any time before the shutdown.

What to do next

Migrate your Functions workflows to Code by Zapier. Code by Zapier supports both Python and JavaScript.

  1. Review the migration guide. Follow the step-by-step instructions in Migrate from Zapier Functions to Code by Zapier for details on recreating your workflows.
  2. Copy your function code. From the Functions home, open each function and copy your code before the shutdown date.
  3. Rebuild your workflows in Code by Zapier. Create new code steps in your Zaps using JavaScript or Python. To call app actions from code, use the Zapier SDK (JavaScript only).
  4. Test and publish your updated Zaps. After replacing your Functions steps, test each Zap to confirm it works, then publish it.
