How to get started with Vercel on Zapier

Vercel and Zapier connect so you can react to new projects and deployments and automate creating projects or deployments from other tools.

Prerequisites

To use the Vercel app on Zapier, you must have:

  • A Vercel account with access to the projects or teams you want to use in Zaps.
  • A Vercel personal access token with the permissions needed for the triggers, searches, and actions you plan to use.
  • Optionally, a team ID if you want API requests scoped to a specific Vercel team (both fields are covered in Connect Vercel to Zapier below).
Create a Vercel personal access token

In the Vercel dashboard, open Account Settings, then Tokens (or use Vercel tokens), and create a token with the scopes required for your Zaps. Copy the token when it is shown; you will paste it into Zapier as Vercel API Token.

Vercel documents how to create a personal access token.

Find a team ID (optional)

If you use Team ID (optional) in the Zapier connection, Vercel API requests are scoped to that team. In the Vercel dashboard, open your team’s Settings and copy the team identifier Vercel shows there, or use the value your team uses elsewhere in the Vercel API.

Connect Vercel to Zapier

To create an app connection to Vercel on Zapier:

  1. Go to the Apps page.
  2. Click + Add connection.
  3. A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Vercel.
  4. Click Add connection.
  5. A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
  6. Complete the following fields: - Vercel API Token: Enter your personal access token. - Team ID (optional): Enter your team ID only if you want requests scoped to that team.
  7. Click Yes, Continue to Vercel (or the button shown to finish the connection).

Your Vercel account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

About Vercel's app

Triggers, searches, and actions

Triggers
  • New Deployment (Polling) - Triggers when a new deployment is created in Vercel.
  • New Project (Polling) - Triggers when a new project is created in Vercel.
Searches
  • Find Project - Searches for a project by name.
Actions
  • Create Project - Creates a new project in Vercel.
  • Create Deployment - Creates a new deployment in Vercel from a Git source.

Limitations

  • New Deployment and New Project are polling triggers; new items are picked up on Zapier’s polling schedule, not the instant they occur in Vercel.
  • Leave Team ID (optional) blank to use your token’s default scope (personal or team, depending on the token). Enter a team ID to scope all requests to that team.
  • Vercel may enforce rate limits and other API constraints; high-volume Zaps can hit those limits.
