At times, agents may require your input to continue executing their instructions. This article explains how to:
- Tell the agent to stop working and wait for approval.
- Request that the agent contact you with details of the approval.
Asking the agent to expect an approval
Agents carry out instructions in the order they are presented. Whenever you want an agent to stop at a certain point and get your confirmation, you can add a sentence like "ask for my confirmation through [messaging app] before continuing to the next instructions."
Once the agent reaches that point, it'll wait for you to confirm whether it should continue.
Add a messaging action
The agent needs access to one of the messaging apps available in Zapier's directory to request your approval. You can add an action to your agent that lets it email or message you through your preferred app. The agent will alert you and you can return to Zapier Agents to approve or stop the workflow.
Approving through a Zap
If you're using your agent as part of a Zap, you can add a Human in the Loop action step to your Zap right after the Zapier Agents step, to get approval requests via email or Slack before the agent proceeds.
