HubSpot triggers do not contain information about associated objects such as companies. To retrieve this information, use the Find Association search action in your Zaps. This action returns the object IDs of associated contacts, companies, and tickets. You can then use these IDs with the relevant search action to retrieve further details.
Set up the Find Association action
To set up the Find Association action:
- In the Zap editor, click the Action step. A dialog box will open.
- In the search box, search for and select HubSpot. The right sidebar will open up to the Setup tab.
- Click the event field to open the modal.
- Select the Find Association search action.
- Click the Account field. A popup window will open.
- Select an existing account from the list, or click + Connect a new account. Learn how to connect a new account.
- Click Continue.
- In the Configure tab, set up the required fields.
- ID of the object you want to search the association: Enter the record ID of the object you want to use to search for associated records. The record ID should be in a numerical format. E.g. (32005751615).
- The type of object you want to search with the association: Select the object type associated with the ID you added in the first field.
- Number of association types you want to search: Select the maximum number of associated types to include in your search. For example, selecting 2 will allow you to return two different associated record types, like contacts and companies.
- Type of the objects the from object is being associated with: Select the object type that the Zap will retrieve. If you have selected to retrieve multiple association types, you’ll need to fill a field for each association.
- Test your action.
To complete the process, add a relevant HubSpot search action, such as Find Contact or Find Deal, to retrieve detailed information.
