Not all apps support line items in Zaps. If you need to use line items in an app that doesn’t support line items, you can use Formatter to convert your line items into text strings.
1. Add a Formatter step to your Zap
- In the Zap editor, click the Action step, or click the plus + icon to add an action to your Zap.
- Select Format.
- Click the Event dropdown menu and select Utilities.
- Click Continue.
2. Customize the line-item to text transformation
- In the Set up action section, click the Transform dropdown menu and select Line-item to Text.
- In the Values section, click the Input field and select a line item field from a previous step.
- In the Separator field, enter the symbol or text that separates each value in your list. If nothing is entered, the Zap will use a comma by default.
- Click Continue.
3. Test your line-item to text transformation
- Click Test & Review. If the transformation is successful, the line items will be converted into a separate field for each item as well as a text string of all line items, separated by commas.
