Prerequisites
To use the Amazon SNS app on Zapier, you must have:
- A paid Zapier account. Amazon SNS is a premium app on Zapier.
- An active AWS account with access to Amazon SNS service.
- An Amazon SNS topic created in your AWS account.
- A dedicated IAM user for Zapier in AWS with SNS permissions. Zapier recommends the
Amazon SNS Full Accessmanaged policy or custom policy including the following minimim permissions:sns:Subscribesns:Unsubscribesns:ListTopicssns:ListSubscriptionsByTopicsns:ConfirmSubscription- (Optionally)
sns:Publishandsns:CreateTopic
Connect Amazon SNS to Zapier
To create an app connection to Amazon SNS on Zapier:
- Go to the Apps page.
- Click + Add connection.
- A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Amazon SNS.
- Click Add connection.
- A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
- Complete the following fields:
- Access Key ID: Enter your AWS Access Key ID.
- Secret Access Key: Enter your AWS Secret Access Key.
- Region: Enter your AWS region (e.g., us-east-1).
- Click Yes, Continue to Amazon SNS.
Your Amazon SNS account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Limitations
- AWS SNS service quotas apply, including limits of 100,000 standard topics per account and 1,000 FIFO topics per account.
- API throttling limits apply, with varying rates depending on the AWS region (ranging from 300 to 30,000 messages per second).
