Box and Zapier connect to automate your file management. You can trigger actions when new files are added and upload files or create folders.
Prerequisites
To use the Box app on Zapier, you must have:
- An active Box account (available on all Box plans including the free Individual plan).
Connect Box to Zapier
To create an app connection to Box on Zapier:
- Go to the Apps page.
- Click + Add connection.
- A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Box.
- Click Add connection.
- A new browser tab or window will open.
- Log into Box to authenticate.
- Grant Zapier permission to access your account if prompted to.
Your Box account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Triggers
- New Comment (Polling) - Triggers when someone comments on a file in a folder you own/collaborate on
- New File (Polling) - Triggers when you add a new file to a folder

Limitations
- Box API rate limits apply. 1000 API requests per minute per user for general calls, 240 file upload requests per minute per user, and 6 searches per second per use.
- Enterprise Box accounts have licensing-based API call limits per month that could affect integration usage.
- Files may suddenly stop triggering if folder sort order is incorrect, requiring manual adjustment in Box to sort by date in descending order.
