Why is the record I created in a previous step not being found when the Zap runs?

If you're mapping in a custom value from an object you've created in a previous step, it may not exist yet. You can resolve this by adding a delay step after the step where you created the record in order to give the app some time to process.

If we’re building a Zap that takes a sign-up form submission, creates a new lead for that person record in our CRM in step two, and then adds that person record to a list in step three, we might need to add a delay step between steps two and three in order to give our CRM time to create the record before we try to look it up and add it to a new list.
