CobbleStone Software and Zapier connect to automate contracts. You can trigger on new contracts, create them, and find contracts, counterparties, and employees.

Prerequisites
To use the CobbleStone Software app on Zapier, you must have:
- An active CobbleStone Contract Insight account, either SaaS or Deployed (self-hosted).
- A Client ID and Client Secret, which a System Administrator can generate in CobbleStone.
- An API client that can read and add contracts, and read counterparties, employees, and the other records the dropdowns list. CobbleStone sets these with table permissions on the API client.
- A paid Zapier account. CobbleStone Software is a premium app on Zapier.
Find your CobbleStone credentials
To find your Client ID and Client Secret, sign in to CobbleStone as a System Administrator and go to My > My API Clients. For detailed steps, refer to CobbleStone's guides for SaaS clients and Deployed clients.
Connect CobbleStone Software to Zapier
To create an app connection to CobbleStone Software on Zapier:
- Go to the Apps page.
- Click + Add connection.
- A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Cobblestone Software.
- Click Add connection.
- A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.

Complete the following fields:
- Account Type: Select SaaS if your CobbleStone web address ends in cobblestone.software or cobblestonesystems.com. Select Deployed if your company hosts CobbleStone at its own web address.
- System URL: Enter the web address you use to sign in to CobbleStone, for example
https://acmecorp.cobblestone.software. - Client ID: Enter your CobbleStone Client ID.
- Client Secret: Enter your CobbleStone Client Secret.
- Account Nickname: Optionally, enter a label to tell this connection apart from others. If you leave it blank, Zapier uses your System URL.
- Click Yes, Continue to Cobblestone Software.
Your CobbleStone Software account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

- Find Contract - Finds a contract by a field you choose (e.g. contract title or ID).
- Find Counterparty - Finds an active counterparty by name.

Actions
- Create Contract - Creates a new contract in CobbleStone Contract Insight.
Limitations
- CobbleStone's REST API does not support webhooks, so the New Contract trigger checks for new contracts on a schedule instead of running instantly.
- Find Contract and Create Contract use the contract fields from your own CobbleStone instance, including custom fields. Create Contract leaves out fields the Add endpoint does not accept, such as IDs and built-in date fields.
- The counterparty and employee dropdowns, Find Counterparty, and Find Employee include only active records.
- Find Counterparty checks one match type per step. To try another match type, add another Find Counterparty step.
- CobbleStone converts dates to its server's time zone. To keep dates on the right day, set your Zap's time zone to match your CobbleStone server.
- CobbleStone does not enforce its Create Contract form's required fields for API requests, so fill in every field your team requires.
- The app does not support updating or deleting contracts.
