About Microsoft Word's app
Triggers, searches, and actions
Triggers
- No triggers available for this app. To trigger a Zap when a document is created or updated, use OneDrive's or SharePoint's triggers instead.
Searches
- Find Document - Finds Word documents in a document library by searching their name and contents.
Actions
- Append Text to Document - Appends text to the end of an existing Word document.
- Convert Document to PDF - Converts a Word document stored in a document library to PDF.
- Create Document - Creates a new Word document from plain text content and saves it to a document library.
- Create Document From Template - Fills a Word template with data to generate a new document.
- Extract Text From Document - Extracts the text content from a Word document stored in a document library.
Limitations
- In-document editing, track changes, or commenting are not available. Every action generates or replaces a full document.
- Create Document and Append Text to Document treat content as plain text. Markdown or HTML syntax will appear as text in the document.
- Create Document, Create Document From Template, and Append Text to Document work best with smaller documents. Very large files may fail with an error from Microsoft.
- Create Document From Template only supports flat placeholders (for example,
{name}). - Extracted text and HTML output from Extract Text From Document is limited to 15 MB per document.
- Only Microsoft 365 work or school accounts with SharePoint access can create "People in your organization" sharing links from Create Document.
