How to get started with Openlayer on Zapier

Openlayer and Zapier connect so you can react to new projects and test results, look up projects and data sources, and automate creating projects, data sources, tests, evaluations, and monitored inference records.

Prerequisites

To use the Openlayer app on Zapier, you must have:

  • An Openlayer account with API access.
  • An API key for your Openlayer account.
Find your Openlayer API key

Create or copy an API key in Openlayer API keys settings.

Connect Openlayer to Zapier

To create an app connection to Openlayer on Zapier:

  1. Go to the Apps page.
  2. Click + Add connection.
  3. A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Openlayer.
  4. Click Add connection.
  5. A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.

Triggers, searches, and actions

Triggers
  • New Project (Polling) - Triggers when a new project is created in your Openlayer workspace.
  • New Test Result (Polling) - Triggers when a new test result is available for a data source. Useful for alerting on passing or failing model tests.
Searches
  • Find Project - Finds a project by name in your Openlayer workspace.
  • Find Data Source - Finds a data source (inference pipeline) by name in a project.
  • Find Test Result - Finds the latest result for a test, including pass or fail status. Use for conditional Zap logic based on test outcomes.
Actions
  • Create Project - Creates a new AI or ML project in your Openlayer workspace.
  • Create Data Source - Creates a new data source in a project for streaming production data to Openlayer.
  • Create Test - Creates a data quality test in a project. Checks for duplicate rows, null values, or row counts.
  • Evaluate Test - Evaluates a test for a specific time range. Use after publishing records to get immediate results.
  • Publish Record - Publishes an LLM inference record to a data source for monitoring. Streams the model input, output, and metadata to Openlayer.
  • API Request (Beta) - This is an advanced action which makes a raw HTTP request that includes this integration's authentication.

Limitations

  • New Test Result requires you to choose a project and data source in the trigger setup so Zapier knows which pipeline to poll.
