Iterable and Zapier connect to automate email marketing workflows. You can create users and track events from form submissions and update user data.
Prerequisites
To use the Iterable app on Zapier, you must have:
- An active Iterable account (free trial or paid plan available).
- A server-side API key created in your Iterable account with appropriate permissions for the actions you want to perform.
- Administrative privileges or "Manage Integrations" project permission in your Iterable account to create API keys.
Connect Iterable to Zapier
To create an app connection to Iterable on Zapier:
- Go to the Apps page.
- Click + Add connection.
- A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Iterable.
- Click Add connection.
- A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
- In the API Key field enter your server-side API key from Iterable.
- Click Yes, Continue to Iterable.
Your Iterable account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

- Create a User - Add new user profile data.
- Track a Purchase - Tracks when a user makes a purchase. Also clears shoppingCartItems on the user profile.
- Update a User - Update user profile data.
- Track Event - Create a custom event.
- Update a User's Shopping Cart Items - Update the "shoppingCartItems" field on the user profile with shopping cart items. User profile is updated if it already exists (created otherwise).
- API Request (Beta) - This is an advanced action which makes a raw HTTP request that includes this integration's authentication.
Limitations
- Rate limits apply to various API endpoints. Different endpoints have different rate limits (e.g., 100 requests/second for campaigns, 10 requests/minute for campaign metrics, 1000 requests/second for catalog items).
- Zapier actions require an email field since Iterable's action steps need an email address for user identification.
