How to get started with Clio on Zapier

Clio and Zapier connect to automate legal workflows. You can trigger actions when new matters or contacts are created and create tasks or calendar entries.

Prerequisites

To use the Clio app on Zapier, you must have:

  • A Clio Manage account.
  • Any Clio Manage plan.

Connect Clio to Zapier

To create an app connection to Clio on Zapier:

  • Go to the Apps page.
  • Click + Add connection.
  • A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Clio.
  • Click Add connection.
  • A new browser tab or window will open.
  • Log into Clio to authenticate.
  • Grant Zapier permission to access your account if prompted to.

Your Clio account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Limitations

  • Only compatible with Clio Manage. The Zapier integration does not support Clio Grow accounts.
  • Zaps are firm-wide, meaning if one user creates and turns on a Zap, it will run for all users on the Clio account when the trigger event occurs. You can use filters to specify which events it runs on.
  • API rate limits of 50 requests per minute during peak usage hours, with increased limits during off-peak hours.
