How to get started with Formidable Forms on Zapier

Formidable Forms and Zapier connect to automate your WordPress forms. You can trigger actions when new entries are submitted and send data to Google Sheets, CRMs, and email tools.

Prerequisites

To use the Formidable Forms app on Zapier, you must have:

  • A Formidable Forms Business license or higher.
  • The Formidable Forms Zapier add-on installed and activated on your WordPress site (available through Formidable → Add-Ons page after purchasing a qualifying license).
  • Your Formidable Forms API key, which can be found at Formidable → Global Settings → API tab in your WordPress admin. 
  • WordPress permalinks not be set to default. If you need to use any permalink structure other than the default "Plain" option (Settings → Permalinks in WordPress). 

Connect Formidable Forms to Zapier

To create an app connection to Formidable Forms on Zapier:

  • Go to the Apps page.
  • Click + Add connection.
  • A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Formidable Forms.
  • Click Add connection.
  • A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
  • Complete the following fields:
    • API Key: Enter your API key.
    • My Site URL: Enter your site URL (including http:// or https:// and the trailing slash).
  • Click Yes, Continue to Formidable Forms.

Your Formidable Forms account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Limitations

  • Summary field cannot be passed to Zapier. 
  • Zapier add-on only triggers on entry creation or deletion, not on entry updates.
  • Cannot use default WordPress permalinks (must use pretty permalinks).
  • Basic Authentication must be enabled on the server for API functionality - source
