How to get started with Quo (formerly OpenPhone) on Zapier

Quo and Zapier connect to automate your phone system. You can trigger actions when calls complete or messages arrive and send texts or update contacts.

Prerequisites

To use the Quo app on Zapier, you must have:

Connect Quo to Zapier

To create an app connection to Quo on Zapier: 

  • Go to the Apps page.
  • Click + Add connection
  • A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Quo.
  • Click Add connection.
  • A new browser tab or window will open.
  • Log into Quo to authenticate.
  • Grant Zapier permission to access your account if prompted to.

Your Quo account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Triggers, searches, and actions

Triggers
  • Call Recording Completed (Instant) - Triggers when a call recording has finished.
  • Outgoing Message Delivered (Instant) - Triggers when an outbound message was delivered to the recipients.
  • Outgoing Call Completed (Instant) - Triggers when an outgoing call has ended.
  • Incoming Call Completed (Instant) - Triggers when an incoming call is completed. If the call is not picked up by you, the answeredAt field will be null. If the user leaves a voicemail, you will get the recording and a transcription on the same object.
  • Incoming Message Received (Instant) - Triggers when you receive a message.
Searches
  • No search actions available.
Actions
  • Send a Message - Sends a new message via OpenPhone.
  • Create or Update Contact - Creates a contact or updates an existing contact.

Limitations

  • Completed US carrier registration is required for messaging to US numbers.
  • Standard SMS limited to 160 characters per segment, Unicode/emoji SMS limited to 70 characters per segment, with longer messages automatically split into multiple segments. Learn more about Quo character count limits and strategies
  • Rate limits apply. API usage limits are designed to prevent abuse and ensure reliability, with limits varying by endpoint and subscription level.
