How to get started with Hume AI on Zapier

Hume AI and Zapier connect to automate voice workflows. You can trigger actions when new voices are created and generate expressive text-to-speech audio.

Prerequisites

To use the Hume AI app on Zapier, you must have:

  • An active Hume AI account.

Connect Hume AI to Zapier

  • Go to the Apps page.
  • Click + Add connection.
  • A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Hume AI.
  • Click Add connection.
  • A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
  • In the API Key field, enter your API key.
  • Click Yes, Continue to Hume AI.
  • Your Hume AI account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

  • API Request (Beta) - This is an advanced action which makes a raw HTTP request that includes this integration's authentication.
  • Generate Text to Speech - Convert text to speech using Hume AI's expressive text-to-speech technology.

Limitations

  • Rate limits for Text-to-Speech API apply. Request rate limit of 100 requests per minute, which may limit high-volume Zapier workflows.
  • Text length restrictions apply. Maximum text length of 5,000 characters per request for Text-to-speech (TTS), which may require splitting longer content.
  • Maximum description length of 1,000 characters for voice prompts and acting instructions.
  • Only supports MP3, WAV, and PCM audio formats.
