How to get started with Smartsheet on Zapier

Smartsheet and Zapier connect to automate your work. You can trigger actions when new rows are added and create or update rows in sheets.

Prerequisites

To use the Smartsheet app on Zapier, you must have:

  • A Smartsheet Pro, Business, or Enterprise plan.

Connect Smartsheet to Zapier

To create an app connection to Smartsheet on Zapier:

  • Go to the Apps page.
  • Click + Add connection.
  • A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Smartsheet.
  • Click Add connection.
  • A new browser tab or window will open.
  • Log into Smartsheet to authenticate.
  • Grant Zapier permission to access your account if prompted to.

Your Smartsheet account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Limitations

  • Rate limiting is enforced to prevent abuse, with HTTP 429 status returned when API calls exceed acceptable load, requiring integrations to handle rate limit errors gracefully with minimum 60-second delays.
  • File upload size is limited to 30MB maximum for attachments through the API.
