Use Human in the Loop to pause Zaps pending human review

Human in the Loop is a built-in tool that lets you pause a Zap at a certain step so a human can review before your workflow continues. Use it to validate, correct, or submit more data for your workflow’s steps. Human in the Loop offers the following events:

• Collect Data action: pauses the Zap run so you can ask for more information. You can then map that data to later steps in your Zap.
• Request Approval action: pauses the Zap run and requests that a reviewer approve or change data you submit for review before continuing the Zap.
• New Approval Requested trigger: triggers when a specific Human in the Loop step runs in another Zap. Use it to send a custom notification from Human in the Loop to any other app on Zapier.

Why should I use Human in the Loop?

Sometimes, you may not want your Zap to run all the way through automatically. Human in the Loop lets you pause and review before continuing a workflow. Use it for things like:

• Reviewing AI-generated content.
• Confirming or editing AI data before they’re used in later steps.
• Ensuring high-impact steps like publishing, messaging, or reporting in your apps are reviewed by a team member or client.
• Having a reviewer provide more data to use in later steps.
