Bluesky and Zapier connect to automate social media. You can trigger actions when new posts are created and create posts from RSS feeds or other apps.
Prerequisites
To use the Bluesky app on Zapier, you must have:
- An app password created in your Bluesky account, if two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled.
Create an app password
An app password is required to connect your BlueSky account if you have 2FA enabled. Even if 2FA is off, Zapier recommends creating and using one for enhanced security.
To create an app password:
- Log into your Bluesky account.
- Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > App Passwords.
- Click + Add App Password. A dialog box will appear.
- Enter a unique name for the app or use the randomly generated one.
- Click Next >.
- Your app password will be displayed. Copy it to your clipboard. Store this password securely, as it cannot be viewed again.
Connect Bluesky to Zapier
To create an app connection to Bluesky on Zapier:
- Go to the Apps page.
- Click + Add connection.
- A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Bluesky.
- Click Add connection.
- A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
- Complete the following fields:
- Username: Enter your Bluesky username or handle.
- Password: Enter your Bluesky password or app password.
- Click Yes, Continue to Bluesky.
Your Bluesky account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

- Create Post - Creates a new post on Bluesky.
- Like Post - Likes a post on Bluesky.
- Repost Post - Reposts (boosts) a post on Bluesky.
Limitations
- Action limits apply with hourly limit of 5,000 points and daily limit of 35,000 points, where CREATE actions cost 3 points, UPDATE actions cost 2 points, and DELETE actions cost 1 point. Learn more about Bluesky's usage limits.
- Pagination is limited to 100 items per API call.
