Add suggested questions to your chatbot conversations

This product is in open beta. It’s available for use but still in active development and may change.

The Suggestions logic type shows suggested questions at the beginning or during a conversation to help your users get the conversation started with a chatbot. 

 

Set up suggestions

  1. From the Chatbots home, click the name of the chatbot.
  2. Click the Logic tab. 
  3. If you have no logic types set, click Suggestions
    • Otherwise, click + Add logic and select Suggestions.
  4. In the When to show suggestions dropdown menu, select when the chatbot should show these suggestions:
    • At the beginning of the conversation.
    • After every chatbot response.
  5. In one of the Suggestions text field, enter a suggestion. You can keep the existing examples or edit them. Click + Add suggestion to add another one. You can add up to 5 suggestions. 
  6. Click Create logic.

 

Allow AI-generated suggestions

You can let the chatbot offer suggestions based on the content of the conversation. 

  1. From the Chatbots home, click the name of the chatbot.
  2. Click the Logic tab. 
  3. Click Show suggested messages
  4. Turn on the Add AI-generated suggestions toggle. 
  5. Click Save changes.
Note
  • The conversation will display up to 2 AI-generated suggestions.
  • Suggestions are based on the last 10 messages exchanged or on the greeting if you set them to appear only at the beginning of the conversation.

 

Edit suggestions

To edit existing suggestions:

  1. Click the Logic tab.
  2. Click Show suggested messages.
    • Click the text field of a suggestion to edit it.
    • Click the Drag icon to move suggestions to your preferred order.
    • Click the Delete icon to remove a suggestion.
