How to get started with Mateo on Zapier

Connect to Mateo on Zapier

Mateo uses API keys to authenticate your account on Zapier.

  1. Log in to your Mateo account.
  2. Click on the gear icon located at the top right of the menu bar.
  3. In the left-hand menu, under the Integration tab, select API Key.
  4. On the right side of the screen, click Create.
  5. A dialog box will appear where you need to enter a name for your new API key.
  6. After naming your API key, click Create. Your new API key will be displayed and is available to be copied.

About Mateo's app

Is a paid Mateo plan required? Yes
  • You must be on either the Mateo Business Plan or Enterprise Plan.
  • View Mateo's plans.
Are any special account permissions required? No  
Are there usage limits? Yes
  • The number of requests you can make in a day is limited to 10,000.
  • Imported entities per day: The number of entities you can import in a day is limited to 25,000.
  • You can choose the ratio between the number of imports and the number of entities per import. For example, you could import 25,000 contacts with 5 imports of 5,000 contacts each, or with 25 imports of 1,000 contacts each. Whatever suits your requirements best.
  • If you hit any of these limits, you will receive a 429 response error code. To prevent this, Mateo recommends reducing the rate at which you request the API. This can be done by introducing a queue mechanism or reducing the number of concurrent requests per second.

Are custom fields supported? Yes
  • In the Mateo app, users can create custom contact fields that automatically appear whenever a customer-relevant action or trigger is utilized in Zapier.

Do update actions overwrite or append to existing data? Overwrite existing data
  • When data is inserted into an existing field in the Mateo app, the input will overwrite the current content.
