How to get started with Chat Data on Zapier

Chat Data uses API keys to authenticate your account on Zapier.

Required authentication fields

  • API key. 

Additional authentication instructions

  1. Log into your Chat Data account.
  2. Click your account page.
  3. Scroll to the API Keys section.
  4. Click Create new secret key.
  5. Copy the API key to your clipboard.

About Chat Data's app

Are self-hosted or cloud-hosted accounts supported? Cloud-hosted accounts only You will receive a 401 authentication error if they have an unsupported hosted account.

Is a paid Chat Data plan required? Yes To use the Chat Data app on Zapier, you must be on either the Entry, Standard, or Professional plan. View Chat Data's plans.
Are any special account permissions required? No  
Are there usage limits? Yes
  • The API call rate limits at 600 requests per minute.
  • The error message with the rate limit is status code 429, with the message to tell the user to try a specific number of seconds later.
