Google Chat and Zapier connect to send automated messages. You can create messages in chat spaces when forms are submitted or emails arrive.
Prerequisites
To use the Google Chat app on Zapier, you must have:
- A Google Workspace account (Business or Enterprise plan) with access to Google Chat.
- Permission to install Zapier app from your Google Workspace administrator.
- The Zapier app must be added to Google Chat and configured with "allowzaps" command to enable Zap integration.
Connect Google Chat to Zapier
To create an app connection to Google Chat on Zapier:
- Go to the Apps page.
- Click + Add connection.
- A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Google Chat.
- Click Add connection.
- A new browser tab or window will open.
- Log into Google Chat to authenticate.
- Grant Zapier permission to access your account if prompted to.
Your Google Chat account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Limitations
- Rate limits apply with a maximum of 1 write per second per space for message creation, updates, and deletions.
- Google's Advanced Protection Program must be disabled to use Google Chat with Zapier, as it blocks third-party app access.
- To send messages in groups chats, you must add Zapier as a bot.
