How to get started with Ontraport on Zapier

Ontraport and Zapier connect to automate your marketing. You can trigger actions when new contacts are added or forms are submitted and create or update contacts.

Prerequisites

To use the Ontraport app on Zapier, you must have:

  • An active Ontraport Plus, Pro, or Enterprise account (API access is not available on the Basic plan).
  • An approved API application from Ontraport (required for first-time API key creation - approval takes 1-2 business days). 
  • An Ontraport API Key and App ID generated from your Ontraport account (Administration → Integrations → Ontraport API Instructions and Key Manager). 
  • A contact owner assigned when creating your API key. 

Connect Ontraport to Zapier

  1. Go to the Apps page.
  2. Click + Add connection.
  3. A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Ontraport.
  4. Click Add connection.
  5. A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
  6. Complete the following fields:
    1. API Key: Enter your Ontraport API Key.
    2. App ID: Enter your Ontraport App ID.
  7. Click Yes, Continue to Ontraport.

Your Ontraport account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Triggers
  • New Contact (Polling) - Triggers when a new contact is added to Ontraport.
  • Product Purchased (Instant) - purchase object whenever specified product is purchased
  • Transaction Created With Product (Instant) - invoice object whenever specified product is purchased
  • New Form Submission (Instant) - Triggers when a contact successfully fills out an Ontraport or ONTRAPages Form.
  • Tag Added (Instant) - Triggers when a tag is successfully added to a contact or a custom object.
  • Tag Removed (Instant) - Triggers when a tag is successfully removed from a contact or custom object.
Searches
  • Find Contact - Finds an existing Contact.
Actions
  • Create or Update Contact - Creates or updates a contact in Ontraport.
  • API Request (Beta) - This is an advanced action which makes a raw HTTP request that includes this integration's authentication.

Limitations

  • Rate limit of 180 requests per minute.
  • Pagination limit of 50 results per page.
